This thing works great if you take the time to set it up right.I read a few of the reviews on here and if you follow them this thing will work1.Make sure the batteries are new/freshly charged (if rechargeable)2. When you hit the on button the green light will only stay on for a few seconds and then shut off this is normal you will also hear a buzzing sound which is also normal if you don't hear the buzzing sound then replace or check the batteries3.you don't need a lot of bait only a little will do i guess mouse can smell really good4. Clean the metal contact pad with a q tip just to keep it cleanfollow the advice others have left on the reviews and you should be fine.this worked for me i was super pumped to get this set up and couldn't wait to catch. It Works well!!!We used a simple 5 gallon bucket and a piece of wood molding to assemble the deer mouse trap. We placed the contraption upon the rim of the bucket and laid the wooden molding ramp on the lip of the bucket. Next, we applied small drops of peanut butter beginning at the base of the ramp and applied a generous amount of peanut butter upon the trap itself. We filled the bucket with a gallon of water and then waited.
All of them range from humane and inhumane, and they have their pros and cons—humane traps are easier to stomach but require more work to. Wearing gloves is recommended when picking up any type of mouse trap and is imperative with open traps, as you're more likely to come into physical contact.
It took a couple of days and we were patient; however, we caught all of them! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Mice are interesting creatures. We live in the country and have lots of mice in the house. No matter how well you seal the house, they find a way in. Live and let live right? Yes, but they poop, the make scratchy noises at night, they chew on everything, they bring disease, and when they die somewhere, they stink horribly. Believe me, I don't take a life without careful consideration. But me and mice can't coexist in our house.
I've basically done the passive thing.clearn all the food, etc.but they are still there. Imagine sitting here typing this review and seeing a tiny mouse run.
Or sitting on the toilet and hear the mice scratching in the baseboard. You get the idea. After 2 years of consideration, I've decided to take action. My shed was over run with rats.
I tried everything. They'd shake off the conventional ray traps, somehow they'd manage to get out of the sticky trays. I tried the electric zappers and they worked for a while and they eventually stopped going in those. I knew there had to be a foolproof way to catch these pests.
This is undoubtedly the best trap made for rats and mice. Very simple and actually has two ways to set the trap. It has a hook and a paddle, either one will set it. Even though the directions may come in Chinese it's very simple to set. I usually put my bait behind the paddle that way they have no other way to get to it except by climbing onto the paddle and BAM!
They are caught. I take them out to the woods near a lake and let them go. After recently moving to the country I discovered I had mice raiding my pantry each night so I bought 4 old school Victor snap traps and baited them with crunchy peanut butter.
3 nights in a row the little fraggers cleaned those traps spotless without setting them off so at the local hardware store I saw these traps and thought I'd give them a try. Literally within a few hours I had trapped two tiny mice.
It's amazing how happy that made me after being stymied 3 nights in a row, lol. These traps are ridiculously easy to set (just pinch the back like a clothes pin) and it sets itself. Put peanut butter on the back of the trigger lever (they have ridges to make it stick better) and set it down. When it traps a mouse simply pick up the trap from.
I set 4 of these traps in the attic and with in 6 hours i heard it trigger 2 of the traps. The next day we checked and it caught 4 rats.so far it's 4 for 4. I'm gonna prep the last two traps and see if i can get 6 for 6. Traps are super easy to set and prep with peanut butter. It does have a hair trigger so be careful when testing them or just messing around. I think the kill was instant and there was no blood anywhere so for all of you PETA concerned consumers out there just know it was instant. I like that you can just dump the body and reset the trap with ease so you can kill more of these pest.
The plastic is strong and the unit it self is well made. I have no issues with quality and after. Easy to bait and set. Set it at 2pm, caught my shop mouse by 6pm. Since the mouse has to enter the container to trigger the snap trap, there is little chance of just a nose or foot being caught like with an open snap trap. Chances are good it will be a clean kill.
Well worth the $4 or so to be able to toss the whole thing without having to remove a dead mouse. Also good to have any droppings or mess contained since I have deer mice known to carry the Hanta virus. If you're considering other options, I previously had a Victor electronic zap trap - mainly because I thought there was a risk the snap trap wouldn't always kill humanely, and I wanted any mess contained.
The electronic trap ended up catching a couple of mice after being set for several days each time, but mostly.
.How Does an Electric Mouse Trap Work?Electronic mousetraps are a modern way to catch mice fast, and depending on how you look at it, humanely. While there are many different kinds of electric mouse traps available to buy, they all have the same components. Some have added features like Wi-Fi for notifications or larger sizes for rodents like rats. Below are the standard features in the best electric mouse traps. Bait CupAll of these kinds of traps have a compartment or a “bait cup” at the end of the trap to lure in the mice. You’ll want to use a with an enticing smell, like peanut butter, that will attract the mice. Safety Pillars / MazeThe majority of these kinds of electric mouse zappers have angled columns inside the trap leading up to the bait room.
They are there to both block the mice from turning back to run away and also to prevent pets and children from reaching inside which would be very dangerous. Shock FactorThis would be the part of this trap that is equivalent to the lever on an old fashioned mouse trap, but much more effective.Just before reaching the mouse trap bait, the mouse will step on a metal plate positioned inside the bait room. Contact with the plate then triggers a lethal high-voltage shock that will immediately kill the mouse.Benefits of an Electric Mouse TrapThe way I see it, there are way more pros than cons when it comes to using an electric mouse trap. Here are a just few of those benefits. Highly EfficientUnlike snap and glue traps where mice can sneak up and steal the peanut butter or other bait, these have a much higher kill rate. Almost all electronic mouse trap manufacturers boast about a 100% kill rate for their products. A More Humane OptionCompared to the other types of mouse traps that kill mice, the electronic versions are the quickest and most painless way to kill a mouse.
Snap traps often snag a mouse and injure it leaving it to die a long painful death. Glue traps are a long torturous death caused by either starvation or suffocation. Some people might consider the only humane mouse traps to be the catch and release variety that keeps the mouse alive. Some consider a quick death a humane option if going that route. It’s up for debate, but that’s what the comments section is for.
ReusableYou’d hope that once you catch all of the mice in your house you’d be able to throw this in the garbage and never have to use it again. But, if you ever happen to get a mouse in your house again, you can dust off your old electronic mouse trap and it’ll continue to work like new. Safe for HomesIf you have pets or small children, almost any other kind of trap can be dangerous in one way or another. Snap traps can injure a curious child.
Poison and toxic bait traps can be fatal to a pet. Glue traps, handled improperly, can spread diseases from a mouse to human. Most electric mouse traps have built in safety measures that make it impossible for anything larger than a mouse to reach in far enough to get a shock. They also usually have a safety automatic shut off for when opening the trap. No Mess / Easy CleanupThe other lethal traps usually end up with some kind of mess that you have to carefully clean up whether it be blood and gore from a snap trap or virus infected areas around a glue trap.
Electric traps almost always have an easy way to discard of a dead mouse without having to touch, or even look at it. Easy to UseThese are very easy to set up around your home or wherever a mouse has decided to infiltrate.

Well, they are great, but with a few drawbacks.
PriceYou can get 10 glue traps for under $10. A single electric mouse trap is going to set you back at least $20 if you want a decent one. This isn’t always the best financial option if there is only a single mouse in your house that you want to get rid of. SizeElectric mouse traps are much bigger than other types of traps. That is a major disadvantage for trying to set them up in highly trafficked areas that are easiest to catch mice. You won’t be able to fit this under your oven or behind your refrigerator like other types of traps.
Can’t Set a LotOne of the is to set as many traps as you can as early as you can. This is easy to do when you have small and inexpensive glue or snap traps, but can be difficult with these expensive and large traps. You might be better off paying a local exterminator to handle the mice rather than investing in an army of electric mice traps. Indoor Use OnlyI have yet to find a good electric mouse trap that works outdoors. Currently you’re only able to use these traps indoors as none have been made to protect themselves from outdoor elements like rain and snow. The Best Electric Mouse Traps Reviews Best Electronic Mouse Trap – OverallYou’re going to find Victor as a top pest control company for DIY mouse removal and most other pests.
